I’ve tried using different brands of CDs (can’t remember the names) and succesfully managed to burn songs on them, but then when I insert the Cd nothing plays. so does anyone know good brands of CDs that won’t let me down? I’m just wondering because I’m moving into a rental house in a couple of weeks, which means that we are unplugging our iMac and I’m just worried that something might happen to my iTunes!
i mean we’re unplugging the computer, moving it to the rental, and plugging it back in, so I’m paranoid my itunes’ll be lost

Why is my mac so slow now?

I have an older Apple Desktop, an iMac G5, and I used to be able to brag about how I could run two browsers, the dvd player, Word, itunes, and pretty much everything at once without it lagging. But lately I can barely run a browser without it being too much. I look at the activiy monitor and there will only be like 10 mb of free RAM. Why is it slowing and what do I need to do to speed it back up to its glory days?

I just got a new 15 inch MacBook Pro.

I had 13 inch mac book with a 200 gb harddrive. It was destroyed by water, but the harddrive was intact, as was it’s data, so I had it put into an external enclosure.

Now that I have my new macbook, what I want to do is move all my data from the external hard drive into my new macbook.

I have a big iTunes library, and I want it exactly set up like the old one, playlists etc. In addition I want to deauthorize the old machine and authorize the new one.

I also have a lot of photos in iPhoto, and I want it set up like the old one with albums etc.

I have an iPhone 3G and I want to get it all set up too.

And when all that data is in the computer correctly, I want to use the external hard drive as my time machine back up (do I need to delete the old info so the info now on my new macbook can be backed up?)

Here is what I have done so far:

I have gotten it all registered, all the user names all set up
my mobile me is all set up
safari all set up.

It is ready to go except for the data I had on my old computer, configured exactly as before.

How do I accomplish this?

PS I tried to do it once, think I messed up and reinstalled the OS and application software.

This shows you how to take songs from your iPod and put them onto any computer. This is great if your computer crashes, you reformat a lot, you accidentally deleted your files, or you just didn’t back them up. This video also shows how to have iTunes organize the files automatically, so you don’t need to buy any software :) NOTE: THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH THE IPOD TOUCH OR IPHONE, DESPITE WHAT IS SAID IN THIS VIDEO. ANOTHER VIDEO SHOWING YOU HOW TO TAKE SONGS OFF OF THOSE IPODS IS COMING!

iPod Video 5G
iMac intel April 2007
iTunes v 7.5 (19)
Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I’m having trouble syncing my iPod with the iTunes on my iMac. Upon plugging in, iTunes says iPod appears to be corrupted and must be restored. After restore, iPod will be restarted by iTunes, which in turn detects the iPod to be corrupted and must be restored yet again.

I plugged the iPod back to my old Windows XP (SP2)/iTunes vers 7.0 desktop PC and it worked fine.

2 Questions:
1. Why does the iPod sync with the PC and not the mac?

2. Can I sync my iPod in the Windows PC but pick up the "shared" iTunes content (over the network) from the iMac during sync? Or I have to reload all my iTunes content back from iMac to my Windows PC?

Any answers will help.

Thanks.
