i need a phone that i can get on the internet with & use as a calendar & date book. right now, i pretty much completely live out of my Mac. i have all my contacts & phone numbers & dates stored in my iCal & address book (also backed up on a flashdrive, of course). i also have an iPod (that is going to need to be replaced within the year) that i listen to constantly.
the price of the iPhone itself is no big deal, but what about the plan? i really don’t use my cell phone right now to simply chitchat, i use it to make important calls.

based on all of this, should i get an iPhone?

Right so today I was going to pop into my local Apple store to get a new iPhone 3G because the home button had broken on mine. It turns out the store was shut for some weird reason, and naturally I thought nothing of it.

As I was heading back to my car my phone fell out of my pocket and I got a spider-web crack that reaches 2 inches up the phone. I’m really annoyed because I read at some places online that it will cost me to replace the phone:S I really do not have the money for that now and I need this phone fixed!

Does anyone know how the procedure will go? Will I have to pay or can I get it for free?

I just got a new 15 inch MacBook Pro.

I had 13 inch mac book with a 200 gb harddrive. It was destroyed by water, but the harddrive was intact, as was it’s data, so I had it put into an external enclosure.

Now that I have my new macbook, what I want to do is move all my data from the external hard drive into my new macbook.

I have a big iTunes library, and I want it exactly set up like the old one, playlists etc. In addition I want to deauthorize the old machine and authorize the new one.

I also have a lot of photos in iPhoto, and I want it set up like the old one with albums etc.

I have an iPhone 3G and I want to get it all set up too.

And when all that data is in the computer correctly, I want to use the external hard drive as my time machine back up (do I need to delete the old info so the info now on my new macbook can be backed up?)

Here is what I have done so far:

I have gotten it all registered, all the user names all set up
my mobile me is all set up
safari all set up.

It is ready to go except for the data I had on my old computer, configured exactly as before.

How do I accomplish this?

PS I tried to do it once, think I messed up and reinstalled the OS and application software.

So my computer go this virus and after i paid a 0 dollars for the annual tune-up just to get rid of it, i find out that when they did eliminate it, it had already affected the operating system. Best Buy’s Geek Squad has given me the option to pay another 100 bucks for the system restore and back-up plus 49.99 to save hardware in a hard drive…. I have just really given up on my Gateway and considered the choice of just getting a new laptop… and i have ended up having to choose to get a Dell, which i can get in one of the various bright colors, or a Mac Book. I was really going for the Mac Book, but after asking some who own one they say it’s not worth the price they cost and that many want Mac Books just because it’s Apple and the way it looks attracts many. Yet, some say it is worth it’s price,it’s great in preventing or even getting viruses-even to the point where you won’t get any at all.. What Do You Think I Should Do? Do You Like Your Mac Book, If you own one? Or Should i get a Dell? I know that this question might seem "stupid", you know, it’s Dell against one of Apple’s products, but i juts don’t own anything of Apple besides my iPhone, iTouch, and my Nano… PLease Help!! Me and my friend have been best friends since year 7 in high school. We used to be so close and was always together, going out and having fun. Recently we have had a problem. It’s quite a long story but please read. When we were in year 9 at school my friend gave me an O2 simcard (she got them free from O2). I used that simcard for about 3 years with no problems. However, about 2 months ago i bought the new iPhone (cost me £500) and just transferred my old simcard in and used the same number (forgetting that she had given it to me and not knowing that she had registered that simcard in her name). Everything was fine for 15 days and then all of a sudden my network was cut off. Meanwhile, at home my nanna noticed my reciept and my insurance reciept and it had my friends name on, so obviously my new iPhone was registered in her name. We were ringing O2 for about 2 weeks and they kept unblocking my phone but after a day or so it would go off again. Then one day, my mum rang O2 again and they said to her that the reason my phone keeps being blocked is because it is in somebody elses name. They also asked us if we had phoned O2 the previous night at 8 oclock regarding this phone, so we said no. Obviously we then thought there was something fishy going on because they also said that the insurance had been sent out but had obviously gone to my friends address because, we thought that her (and her boyfriend who is 26) had recieved my insurance and were trying to make a claim on it. (O2 also thought this, that is why they blocked the phone because they thought there was a fraud on it). So after the last time we rang O2, they advised me to phone my friend and just ask her to phone O2 and confirm that she didnt own the phone and that there had been a mix up. I rang her and she wouldn’t do anything and just kept on putting the phone down. We went to the police that day because we thought that she was trying to claim on my insurance (especially with O2 saying that somebody rang them the previous night about the phone), the police asked me for her number and said he would ask her if she has my insurance and then he would phone me back. Even the police man agreed that it seemed there was something going on. As you can probably imagine, i got home and was fuming, thinking how could she do something like this to me. So i went on facebook and put next to my name "never trust so called ‘friends’". That evening, the police man phoned me back and said that she has the documents and that her dad had been told he had to return them to me within 24 hours. Her dad said "i dont feel i should pay postage" but anyway that just shows you what he’s like. About an hour later her dad rang up and explained what had happened, he said that about 2 weeks ago his daughter (my friend) recieved this insurance for an iPhone through the post. Knowing it wasn’t theirs, her dad rang O2 and that was when my phone was cut off. I kept ringing up each day and so did he because he didn’t know what was going on so each day my phone was blocked. Anyway he rang O2 and told them that the phone didn’t belong to them and it has now been put in my name so the phone is now sorted out. After all that happened my nanna rang my friend up to apologize to her because my nanna called her a s**t on the answering machine and when my nanna had spoke to her she put me on. I told her i was sorry for accusing her of something she didn’t do and she just said "right", so i said whats wrong and she just said "nout" and the conversation didnt really go much further. I told her if she sees anything on facebook to just ignore it because i dont mean it and she said the same to me because she had left me a nasty message so i said ok and that was basically the end of the conversation. This was two weeks ago and she hasnt spoke to me since, she usually texts me or talks to me on msn or facebook but even when i am online she doesn’t say anything to me. I don’t want to be the first one to say hi because i feel like she takes the mickey out of me behind my back and i know she doesnt think much of me as a friend anymore. If i say hi or send her a text first she will think i am desperate to be her friend, but i want her to realise that i have moved on and got more friends now, so she will have to speak to me first. What should i do?
What i am trying to say is, i have already apologised to her about it and she accepted it but she is still ignoring me, why?
