Serious PC problem as I everything I try to open takes me back to the desktop after doing a system restore…?

Because at first I couldn’t get online at all since it kept going to a blank page. I heard rumours from a site I am well-known and also disliked by many at that spammers were collecting IP addresses and hacking people, so I did the system restore to the day before just to be safe and now anything I click shows up at the desktop again. Is this hack, virus or what? And what do I need to do in order to use my own PC again!? Please help!

I have not always had good luck with System Restore. Not sure why you did a system restore if you were not having any issues with your system.
Questions to ask… How far back did you go? Were any of the applications you are trying to open installed after the date of the system restoration point?
Outside of trying to use a more recent system restore point than the one you recently used, all I can suggest is a format of the hard drive and installation of your OS and all applications.
