Any reason not to do my backups on another drive INSIDE my computer?

I want to put another hard drive INSIDE the computer and free up the external for something else…aside from a meteor strike ( which would get me anyays on the external) any reason not to do this? I use acronis a cloning pgm

there is no reason not to use an internal. especially if you leave your external plugged in all the time anyway.
Well, an electrical Surge would be the only danger, but computers should always be connected though a surge protector so I don’t see why not besides if you want to take it places.
Doing it on an internal drive is better than nothing. In fact its pretty good. But with an external drive you can take it with you when you leave the house – go on vacation or whatever.
This will then give you an extra level of protection from fire or theft – both of which are more common that meteor strikes
The only drawback would be if there is some disaster, but you’d have the same issue with the external hard drive.
Nothing at all, its probably the best option to do since partitioning is stupid. The only thing I could think of would be that (and I don’t know much about this) someone could code a virus to delete both drives.. but that is less likely that a meteor strike so everything is good to go!
